- MLA Spencer Chandra-Herbert
Writer, grandmother, and avid walker, Melanie Ray
Graphic designer and long-time resident, Chloe Perron
The City of Vancouver is hosting a neighbourhood storytelling event to launch the West End Community Planning process. Local residents will share a personal story that explores the theme of home and the richness of the neighbourhood. Stories will provide a beginning point for the community planning process, while also contributing to the work of the Mayor’s Task Force for Housing Affordability. There will be local musical guests to provide entertainment throughout the evening.
Community plans are created with residents, to provide guidance and direction on a variety of topics, including: land use, urban design, housing, transportation, parks and public spaces, social planning, cultural infrastructure, heritage features and community facilities. They provide a clear but flexible 20 -30 year framework to guide decision-making changes in neighbourhoods.
